First Cleaning Job? Here’s What to Expect
Starting your first cleaning job can be exciting, but it’s natural to feel a little nervous.
Don’t worry—you’ve got this! Here’s a breakdown of what to expect before, during, and after your first booking to ensure a smooth experience.
1. Communication is Key
- Before the job, we’ll provide you with the customer’s address, and you’ll be able to contact them via call, text, or chat through the MySquard Services for Pros app. This is your opportunity to clarify any job details, confirm expectations, or discuss any necessary adjustments before you arrive.
2. Be Fully Prepared
Customers expect you to bring all the necessary cleaning supplies to complete the job efficiently. If you’re unsure what to bring, reach out to the customer in advance. Some recommended essentials include:
- ✅ Multi-purpose cleaner, rags, and towels
- ✅ Tub and tile cleaner
- ✅ Combination floor sweeper/mop
- ✅ Toilet bowl cleaner and a vacuum
- ✅ Wood and glass cleaning solutions
- ✅ Floor cleaner wet refills
3. First Impressions Matter
- If the customer is home at the start of the booking, ask for a quick tour of the space and review any specific instructions. This is also the perfect time to confirm if the scheduled time is sufficient for the job. If more time is needed, the customer can extend the booking through MySquard, or you can discuss additional services directly.
4. Finishing Up & Checking Out
Before leaving, do a final walkthrough to ensure everything is in order. Double-check for:
- ✅ Family pets are in the right place
- ✅ Gas knobs being turned off
- ✅ Any special instructions for key returns
Once you check out, the customer will have the option to rate your service. MySquard will handle payment processing, including any tips you receive.
